ACS_0472.JPG

I finally posted part two of HOW TO CLEAN YOUR CAST IRON! Just remember never use soap!!!! Here’s what you need:

INGREDIENTS
Dirty cast iron (duh)
Salt
1/4 cup water
Wooden scraper or spoon
High heat oil
Towel or paper towel

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Put cast iron on high heat and add a tablespoon or two of salt. Start scraping any stuck on bits.
2. Add water and scrape off any hard stuck on pieces, don’t forget the sides!
3. Rinse out salty water and wipe out excess moisture. Turn heat back on, add about a teaspoon of oil and wipe down until cast iron is fully coated. Keep on heat for about 30 seconds then remove and let cool. ***adding and heating the oil will create layers of non-stick finish and created the BEST cast iron. The more you cook with and clean it the better and more non-stick your cast iron will be!
